ANNVILLE, Pa.
- Mary Washington spoiled the party as #16 Lebanon Valley made its debut at Arnold Field, holding on for a 3-2 win in the season opener.

The Dutchmen (0-1) were playing their first game on the new FieldTurf at Arnold Field after a summer renovation project added the new playing surface and lights to the facility.

UMW (1-0) controlled from the outset, striking first with Amy Stevens' goal in the 25th minute and then scoring two in the second half to pull away with the win. The Eagles led 18-10 on shots and 11-6 on corners.

Stevens' goal, picked out of a scramble, was the only tally of the first half, but Cate Cusack leveled the score at 1-1 in the 45th minute off Kirsten Martzall's cross.

The Eagles quickly went ahead when Lisa Charney shot a hard and high hit off the corner in the 50th minute, and Florence George redirected Caitlin Baker's shot through traffic to go up 3-1 less than three minutes later.

LVC showed late life when Kirsten Martzall finished a superb run by Caitlin Vasey, but the Dutchmen never found the equalizer despite several late chances.

Chloe Baro made 10 saves in her first career start, including several goal-saving clearances. Claire Gianelle earned the win with two stops for UMW.
