Work has been completed installing Lebanon Valley College's new FieldTurf Revolution surface at Arnold Field, marking the second major milestone in the renovation project.
The turf, which is the same surface used by the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, is ready for preaseason camps, which will report in mid-August. The field hockey team will be the first to play a game on it, opening up Sept. 1 against Mary Washington; the football team gets its first crack a week later on Sept. 8 against Misericordia.
The field features a large LVC logo in the middle with "Dutchmen" in the end zones. Permanent playing lines are sewn in, with white for football, gold for men's lacrosse, blue for women's lacrosse, and black for field hockey.
Earlier in the summer, competition-quality lights were erected, and the resurfacing of the track, which is underway this week, will be the final major component in the project that will transform the facility. The upgraded field will be home to LVC's football, field hockey, men's and women's lacrosse, and men's and women's track & field programs.
