LOCKER ROOM CHALLENGE
ANNVILLE, Pa. – Just months away from re-entering NCAA Division III play, Lebanon Valley's men's ice hockey team, as well as the College's young women's program, is on the verge of suiting up in an overhauled and renovated locker room at the historic Hersheypark Arena.
"New locker rooms will have a positive impact on our program in multiple ways," said LVC head coach
Don Parsons. "We want our current players to be comfortable and proud to call this space their home, while the new space will offer the capacity to house the women's ice hockey program as well. Our program's heritage will be on display as our alumni come back to LVC, whether they are playing in an alumni game or just visiting their old stomping grounds.
"Finally, a renovated locker room adds tremendous strength in recruiting and attracting the best talent from across the nation as we prepare to transition back to NCAA Division III competition," continued Parsons. "We'll have the dual benefit of current, up-to-date facilities housed in one of hockey's great venues, historic Hersheypark Arena."
Lebanon Valley is holding a fundraising challenge in hopes for investments in the future of LVC ice hockey. Gifts made to the program through the Blue & White Club will help make these exciting locker room enhancements possible.
Thanks to a generous challenge gift from LVC ice hockey alumnus Spiros Anastas '10, each gift received by June 30 will be matched, up to a total of $25,000. A leadership gift of $1,000 will provide a locker for one of LVC's student-athletes, with the donor's name being engraved on a plaque on the locker. Student-athletes will be reminded of the generosity of LVC ice hockey alumni, parents, and friends each time they prepare for a game or practice.
