How It Happened
Lebanon Valley's men's soccer team scored two goals in the second half to defeat Grove City 3-1 in the ECAC Quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon to advance to next weekend's ECAC Semifinal round. The Dutchmen improved upon their already-historic season and jumped to 16-4, while the Wolverines' season ended at 15-5-1.

LVC will host next weekend's ECAC Semifinal and Championship rounds, which are set to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday when Penn State Harrisburg takes on Drew University. The second semifinal game at 2 p.m. will feature the Dutchmen against William Paterson University with the championship game set for Sunday.

In the first half of today's game, Tyler Skye continued his hot postseason when he got a pass in the box from Cam Alexander in the 14th minute and scored to make it a 1-0 game in favor of LVC. That score would stick for the remainder of the half, and the Dutchmen went into the break clinging to a one-goal lead.

The halftime break seemed to favor Grove City, as the Wolverines scored just 56 seconds into the next half on an own goal to tie things up at 1-1. Later, in the 62nd minute, Riley Katshir collected his own rebound and launched a shot past Grove City's goalie Denny and into the back of the net to give LVC the 2-1 lead, which it would never relinquish.

Bradley Mehl added a goal for good measure in the 87th minute thanks to an assist from Jake Kline, as the Dutchmen went on to defeat Grove City by a 3-1 margin.

Inside the Numbers
