How It HappenedGRANTHAM, Pa. – Lebanon Valley fell to Messiah 4-0 in the semifinal round of the MAC Commonwealth postseason tournament on Wednesday night. The Dutchmen ended their season with an 8-10 record, while the Falcons (14-4-1) head to the championship game on Saturday at No. 1 Lycoming.
Messiah first got in the board just over 21 minutes into the match when Benji Kennel netted his seventh of the season to make it 1-0. LVC was able to keep the Falcons off the scoreboard for the remainder of the first half and went into halftime down by just a goal.
Kennel scored his second of the game 14 minutes into the second and Messiah put the game out of reach with a goal from Colby Thomas in the 73rd minute. The Falcons added another tally in the 88th minute and went on to win by a 4-0 score.
Inside the Numbers - Messiah outshot the Dutchmen 27-3 and led in corners at 7-4.
