ANNVILLE, Pa. -
Cynthia Adams (women's track & field) and
Kevin Agnew (men's basketball) have earned weekly honors from the Middle Atlantic Conference.
Adams is the MAC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while Agnew was named the Commonwealth Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Adams ran the nation's fastest 800m time as she won the event to open the indoor season at Ursinus' Bow-Tie Invitational. The two-time all-American turned in a 2:17.15 time to qualify for ECAC Championships. It's the sixth career MAC weekly award for Adams.
Agnew drained 42 points - LVC's most in more than a decade and only the fifth 40+ point game in the nation this season - as LVC fell at Albright on Saturday. With a 26-point game in a win over Hood on Wednesday, Agnew averaged 34.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game last week, shooting 56.1% overall, 42% from range, and 16-of-18 (88.9%) at the line. It is Agnew's fifth career CC weekly award.
