Spring Team Postseason Scenarios

Heading into the final weekend of the season, postseason positions are still up in the air for several LVC spring teams. Here's a breakdown of the scenarios:

Men's Lacrosse
LVC faces a virtual must-win game against Elizabethtown Saturday to earn a playoff berth. A loss wouldn't necessarily eliminate LVC, but the likeliest scenarios would not be in their favor as Messiah takes on Alvernia and Lycoming plays Stevenson.

No matter what, Stevenson is the #1, Albright the #2, and Widener the #3.

If Lebanon Valley beats Elizabethtown: LVC is the #4 seed in tournament, hosts #4/#5 play-in game Monday vs. Messiah, Elizabethtown, or Lycoming.

If Lebanon Valley loses, and...
  • Messiah and Lycoming win: Elizabethtown is the #4 seed and hosts #5 LVC Monday
  • Messiah wins and Lycoming loses: Messiah is the #4 seed and hosts #5 Elizabethown Monday
  • Messiah loses and Lycoming wins: Elizabethtown is the #4 seed and hosts #5 LVC Monday
  • Messiah and Lycoming lose: Elizabethtown is the #4 seed and hosts #5 LVC Monday

Women's Lacrosse
LVC (5-2 CC) has already clinched a berth and will play for seeding on Saturday at Elizabethtown (5-2 CC). If LVC wins, it will be the #3 seed and travel to #2 Messiah for a semifinal May 2. If Elizabethtown wins, then the Blue Jays will be the #3 seed and LVC will host the #4/#5 play-in game April 30 against either Alvernia or Albright.

Softball
The Dutchmen sit alone in first place after Messiah gifted them an Alvernia loss on Wednesday. That means that LVC (15-1 CC) has to win just one game this weekend against Elizabethtown (8-8) to secure the #1 seed in the tournament, which Lebanon Valley is hosting May 3-5. If LVC loses both games, and Alvernia (14-2 CC) takes two from Arcadia, Alvernia would be #1 and LVC #2.

Men's Tennis
LVC (3-2 CC) has already clinched a berth, and finish at Alvernia (3-2 CC) on Saturday. The winner will be the #3 seed and travel to Messiah for the semifinals; the loser is the #4 and heads to Elizabethtown.

Women's Tennis
The Dutchmen are locked into the #2 seed in the tournament and will host a semifinal against Messiah on May 1.
