LEXINGTON, Ky. – Lebanon Valley College earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for the 2009-2010 season, as announced by the organization Tuesday. The Dutchmen were one of 450 teams to be honored.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
Lebanon Valley completed the year with a 3.3350 team cumulative GPA out of a 4.0 scale.
“I've been very proud of my teams' academic achievements during my 26 years at Lebanon Valley College,” said head coach Wayne Perry. “2009-2010 stands out as an exceptionally successful academic year for our squad. I couldn't be happier with their academic and athletic accomplishments.”
