2010 D3 Senior Classic Preseason All-Americans
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Senior defensive end
Zach Bleiler and senior right tackle
Jason Sneeringer have been named preseason All-Americans by D3 Senior Classic, it was announced Wednesday.
The D3 Senior Classic, a postseason all-star game, put Bleiler on its North First Team and Sneeringer on the North Second Team. Both Dutchmen were also added to the Senior Classic's roster watchlist for the game to be played in Salem, Va., this December.
Bleiler was also named a second-team all-America by Consensus Draft Services earlier in June. The 6'5", 272-pound senior defensive end was a 2009 first-team all-region pick by d3football.com, and was a first-team all-MAC selection after recording 59 tackles from his spot on the defensive line. In 11 games, Bleiler racked up 15.0 tackles for a loss with 10.5 sacks; he led a run defense that allowed just 98.4 yards per game and 2.9 yards per carry.
Sneeringer will return to anchor LVC's offensive line after earning first-team all-MAC and all-ECAC honors in 11 starts at right tackle in 2009. He was a key part of an LVC line that allowed just 13 sacks in 11 games and produced the MAC's top rushing offense, which included two 900-yard rushers in
Charlie Parker '10 and rising junior
Ben Guiles.
Lebanon Valley (9-2 in 2009) opens Sept. 4 against Gettysburg at Arnold Field.
