2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region Teams
ANNVILLE, Pa. - In the midst of their run in the NCAA Tournament, three members of the Lebanon Valley College softball have been named to the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-East Teams.
Shortstop
Meghan Donoghue is a first-team selection, while pitcher
Laura Snyder and second baseman
Kerri Datres are third-team picks in the teams announced Friday.
#21 LVC is currently battling in the winner's bracket of the Ithaca NCAA regional, beating Polytechnic (N.Y.) 1-0 on Thursday to advance to face the host Bombers on Friday.
Donoghue was the hero in Thursday's game, hitting a solo home run (her seventh of the year) to lift LVC to the win. This season, Donoghue is hitting .398 and slugging .715 with 14 doubles and 28 RBI. Her 49 hits lead the team this season.
Snyder was also outstanding in LVC's NCAA opener, twirling a 14-K shutout to lower her season ERA to 1.49. She has held batters to a .190 average with 9.4 K/gm. She is 14-5 overall with 10 shutouts.
Datres had a breakout sophomore year as LVC's everyday second baseman, batting .360 out of the leadoff spot. She has drawn a team-best 13 walks to go with 40 hits in 111 at-bats. Defensively, she committed just three errors in 123 attempts at second.
