Noyes Drops 25 as LVC Bests Alvernia, 79-64

ANNVILLE, Pa. -  Suzie Noyes tied her career high with 25 points as Lebanon Valley cruised past Alvernia, 79-64, in Commonwealth Conference play. She hit on 9-of-16 shots, including 5-of-7 in the second half to help the Flying Dutchmen improve to 11-1 and 3-0 in the Commonwealth Conference.

The Dutchmen bounced out to a 44-27 lead at halftime, shooting 53% to 38% for the Crusaders. After an even first seven minutes, LVC clamped down on defense, holding Alvernia without a field goal for over seven minutes. Over that span, LVC turned a 20-16 lead into a 31-20 advantage with baskets from four different players. LVC again stonewalled Alvernia from the field over the final 4:57 of the first half, allowing just one more field goal and four points total.

Seven different players scored for Lebanon Valley in the first half, including 10 off the bench from Liz Borgia. Overall, nine of the 10 players to play at least 12 minutes scored points. Eryn Schultz scored nine points - all from beyond the three-point line - while freshmen Sarah Colton and Amanda Donia each dropped in eight. Borgia added eight boards to her 13 points. Three different players had four assists for the Dutchmen, including Lindsey Nies who did so while committing only one turnover.

Alex Velasquez paced the Crusaders with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Kelli McIntyre led Alvernia in scoring with 17 points while Angela Altemose (11) and Julie Hahn (10) each had double digits.

Lebanon Valley travels to Elizabethtown for a conference matchup on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m.
