2009 ECAC South All-Star Teams

CAPE COD, Mass. - Sophomore pitcher Val Malizzia and junior third baseman Allie Davies have been named Second-Team ECAC South All-Stars, the organization has announced.

Malizzia, who was named Second-Team All-Region and First-Team All-Commonwealth Conference in May, went 13-5 with a 1.45 ERA and an LVC season-record 140 strikeouts. She threw 16 complete games with eight shutouts in 130.1 innings pitcher, and opponents hit .213 off her. This season, she threw a perfect game and a no-hitter.

Davies, also a Third-Team All-Region and Second-Team all-CC honoree, finished the 2009 season on a tear, hitting a team-leading .351 and slugging .604 with 27 RBI and five home runs. The third-baseman ripped 11 doubles and drew 14 walks, and led the team with a .425 on-base percentage.
