Golf In Fifth After Day 1 At CC Championship

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Lebanon Valley turned in a first-day 344 to sit in fifth place after 18 holes at the 2009 Commonwealth Conference Golf Championships at Blue Ridge Country Club.

Led by Steve Garby's 79, the Dutchmen are nine strokes back of Messiah and Widener, which are tied for third at 335. Elizabethtown leads at 311, with Albright behind at 327.

Garby's five-over 79 was good for fifth on the first day of play, and Charlie Fisher shot 86 for 15th. Mike Krajnik carded an 89 to tie for 22nd, and Brian Moskevich was the final scorer at 90, in 24th. Matt Snyder was the fifth man at 97.

The championship will conclude Monday morning at 8:30 a.m.
