Men's and Women's Lacrosse Reveals Preseason 2010 Rosters

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College head coach of men's lacrosse John Haus and head coach of women's lacrosse Brianne Tierney have announced their preseason rosters for the re-launch of men's and women's lacrosse in March 2010.

The men's team will welcome 27 members for the first year, including 13 freshmen; the women have a roster of 21 student-athletes, with 12 freshmen.

Lebanon Valley is re-launching lacrosse for varsity play in the spring of 2010. LVC previously sponsored men's lacrosse from 1965-1985, and women's lacrosse from 1975-1985. The women will debut at home March 4 against Lancaster Bible College, and the men will start two days later at Mt. St. Mary's College (N.Y.) before making their home debut March 10 against Husson University.

Men's Roster

The men have a mix of upperclassmen and freshmen for their first campaign, including 11 multi-sport athletes on the roster (eight from ice hockey, three from football).

Five men will be on attack for 2010, including freshmen Austin Myhre (Alexandria, Va. / Mount Vernon), Ty Fosnacht (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra), Ian Schmid (Lititz, Pa. / Warwick), and Sean Foley (Warren, N.J. / Rutgers Prep) and sophomore Kyle Stewardson (Milford, Mass. / New Hampton School).

A large group of midfielders will be in the mix for Haus, with seniors Brendan Cummings (Callaway, Md. / Leonardtown), Carmen Forte (Sugarloaf, Pa. / Hazelton Area), and Andrew Brandt (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra), juniors Jimmy Black (Hummelstown, Pa. / Gilmour Academy) and Brad Surdam (Springfield, Va. / West Springfield), sophomore Michael Fransen (Burtonsville, Md. / H.D. Jacobs [Ill.]), and freshmen Colin McKenna (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / East Pennsboro), David Libert (Hockessin, Del. / Sanford School), Steve Wildberger (Eldersburg, Md. / Liberty), and Scott Sutton (Laurel, Md. / Reservoir).

On defense, eight will work in front of goalkeepers Ethan Hilburg (Jarrettsville, Md. / Harford Tech) and Sean Wilson (Willoughby, Ohio / Gilmour Academy): juniors Rich Drazin (Wilmette, Ill. / New Trier) and  Colin Thompson (Bowie, Md. / The Gunnery), sophomore Mike Manubay (Bear, Del. / Caravel Academy), and freshmen Michael Hull (Alexandria, Va. / Mount Vernon), Aaron Amin (Canton, Mich. / Canton), Brian Semkiw (New Market, Md. / Linganore), Jason Daughtery (Landisville, Pa. / Hempfield), and Ian Repko (Gilbertsville, Pa. / Boyertown Area).

Women's Roster
The women's team includes nine upperclassmen and 12 freshmen, with five multi-sport athletes on the roster (three field hockey, one swimming, and one women's soccer).

Up front, coach Tierney three pure attackers with freshmen Allison McGinniss (Randolph, N.J. / Randolph), Samantha Oates (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central), and Cate Cusack (Woodbuy Heights, N.J. / Gateway Regional), while attack/midfield combos Hana Krechel (Fawn Grove, Pa. / Kennard-Dale) and Rachel Murkey (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) will also add to the scoring.

A large group of midfielders will add plenty of depth on both sides of the ball. Seniors Amanda Cubbage (Millville, N.J. / Millville) and Nina Balogh (King of Prussia, Pa. / Upper Merion Area ), sophomores Amber Funk (Millersville, Pa. / Penn Manor), Brittany Kreider (Millersville, Pa. / Penn Manor), and Lauren Grande (Owings Mills, Md. / Franklin), and freshmen Charlie Robinson (Avis, Pa. / Jersey Shore), Kristen Rooney (Havre de Grace, Md. / Havre de Grace), Suzanne Sullivan (White Hall, Md. / North Harford), and Jen Strack (Taneytown, Md. / Francis Scott Key) will patrol midfield.

At the back, sophomores Brittani Bissell (Annville, Pa. / Blue Mountain Academy) and Kristen Clift (Westminster, Md. / North Carroll) are midfield/defense combos, while three freshmen defenders in Jackie Hoover (Rheems, Pa. / Elizabethtown Area), Chloe Gunther (Severn, Md. / Old Mill), and Samantha Stewart (Crofton, Md. / South River) will play in front of goalkeepers Emma Taylor (Ellicott City, Md. / Howard) and Erica Ameigh (Hershey, Pa. / Lower Dauphin).
